Make-up Museum


 

The Make-up Museum showcases famous works from film, television and advertising, created by make-up industry leaders. The museum also features rare photo collections, movie memorabilia and pieces from special make-up effects studios. Past contributors have included the Stan Winston Studio, Mike Hill, W.M. Creations, Creative Character, KNB EFX, the Chiodo Brothers, Creature Effects and many others. The museum is your chance to see make-up history up close.

 

The 2012 museum will be IMATS Sydney 2011 Make-up Museum: curator Tyrone Finlaycurated by Tyrone Finlay (right) of Finlay Makeup and Effects. Based south of Sydney, make-up artist Finlay has freelanced as Finlay Makeup and Effects for advertising, film and television productions. He has also made props, molds and commissioned sculptures. Finlay owns TFX Studios (which sells customized saber accessories) and the MFX Makeup Store, which produces a range of customized gelatin prosthetic appliances and online how-to videos. He has taught special make-up effects at various locations and is a Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor.
