The make-up industry’s top talent is coming to the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show London, now held at a new time and place: IMATS has moved from winter to summer, and from Alexandra Palace to Olympia National Hall.

Keynote speakers for IMATS London 2013 include Oscar-winning artists Joel Harlow (Star Trek, the Pirates of the Caribbean films) and Mark Coulier (World War Z, Iron Lady), and BAFTA-winning artist Neill Gorton (Saving Private Ryan, Dr. Who). London-born runway veteran Kabuki (Vogue, Lady Gaga, Sex and the City) will be the beauty keynote speaker.

Featured speakers include beauty and body-painting expert Einat Dan (Maxim, InStyle) and Siân Richards (Cloud Atlas). Both will teach master classes. Coulier and Richards will also join “Raising the Bar,” a panel discussion among veteran film artists. And West End artists will share their stories in the panel discussion “Working in Theater.”

Celebrated make-up artist Kazuhiro Tsuji will also appear at IMATS London for the first time ever. Dream Out Loud, the documentary on his life and work, will have its London premiere and Tsuji will lead an exclusive master-class demo; both happen Friday.

Throughout the weekend, guests will also learn fashion make-up tips and tricks from Terry Barber, M.A.C.'s director of make-up art for the United Kingdom; David Klasfeld, founder of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics; and many others.

International cosmetics companies will unveil new products and tools at IMATS London and offer discounts on old favorites, and the Make-up Museum will showcase creatures and effects from popular films and television shows.

In the Battle of the Brushes student make-up competitions, international make-up students will race to create winning looks. This year’s beauty competition is themed The Elements; the character competition has an Oz theme.

The Make-Up Artist Pro-Card Event, open exclusively to Make-Up Artist Pro-Card holders, will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21. Master classes also will be held Friday. General-admission hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 22 (followed that evening at 6 p.m. by the Afterglow party at the onsite Pizza Express) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23.

IMATS is produced by Make-Up Artist magazine, a division of Key Publishing Group. IMATS is held annually in Los Angeles; New York; London; Vancouver, B.C.; Sydney and Toronto. Make-Up Artist is read in nearly 70 countries and was created in 1996 by Emmy Award-winning make-up artist Michael Key.
